"Scott Hawley has found a way to write unusually intelligent lyrics that hit me square in the gut -- the songs affect me more emotionally than cerebrally. Combine this with a gift for melody, a natural tenor, and Michael-Hedges-inspired guitar playing, and you have Scott Hawley. I'm truly proud to have worked with him."
-- Stephen Doster (producer)

"Of the 300 songwriters who have performed at our weekly showcases, Scott Hawley is among a very few who have it all... lyrically, melodically, instrumentally and vocally. Think 'James Taylor' and you'll come close to what Scott delivers with each performance."
-- Bruce Newlin, Tres Hombres Music, Austin, Texas

"[Scott's] concerts were always highlights of our program."
-- Ralf Luderfinger, Manager, Checkpoint am Spittelmarkt, Berlin

"Rocks me like a hurricane!"
-- Paul Finley, recording artist and former instructor, Austin Guitar School

" ...His stories of searching for love and meaning are delivered with catchy melodies and inpiring acoustic guitar technique....
-- Funhouse Music

"New songwriters can test out their stuff at new Ruta Maya
The new year brings new opportunities for burgeoning songwriters. The new Tres Hombres Songwriters' Showcase takes place every Monday from 7 to 10 p.m. at the new Ruta Maya Coffee House in the Penn Field complex. The event, which serves as a supportive showcase and networking opportunity for local songwriters, allows artists who don't often perform to do so and gain feedback from other artists and the regular coffee shop crowd. The evening starts with an open mike from 7 to 8 p.m. followed by sets from, in order, Brigit's Kiss, Tim Gangwer, Mike Clifford and Scott Hawley. 3601 S. Congress Ave. 472-9638. "
